This is just what I needed to begin summer. I was already making goals as this last week of school is here for some, and one is already off as of Friday. I've felt overwhelmed so I wanted to fix it with routine and plans. But maybe beautiful, restful ordinary days can be my goal instead :)

I don't know about you, but I'm tired of trying to make all the things happen.

This weekend, my husband and I were asking, "How do we dream for the future, have goals we're working towards, but do so with space and margin for the reality of our ordinary days?"

We don't want to look back and wish we had done more to achieve a dream or vision that never came to be. And yet, we also don't want to look back and realize we missed the beautiful things happening every day.

We didn't come up with any awesome answers. Right now, we're just holding space for the idea of finding balance between being and doing. Giving this summer permission to be what it needs to be.

It's even cooler you and your husband talked about this. It really does take a different type of future-visioning.
